Choosing your wedding dress is one of the most personal decisions you will make before the big day. We have been dressing brides at Alice Design since 2011, and we know that the right dress is not simply the most beautiful one in the window, but the one in which you feel entirely yourself: comfortable on the dance floor, confident at the ceremony and photogenic from the first picture to the last. This page brings together the wedding dresses available now and the styles we can make to measure for you in the Alice Design atelier at Calea Moșilor 100, Sector 2, Bucharest.

Every style is listed with its fabric and shade, and sizes run from 34 to 52 (EU). If you have found a dress you love but would like a different neckline, other sleeves, a longer or shorter train or another shade, we can adapt it. And if you already have an idea, or a photograph of the dress you have always imagined, we can create it from scratch.

How to choose the right silhouette

The silhouette is the first thing you notice in a dress and the one that most shapes how you feel wearing it. We have organised the collection by the most requested cuts, so you can find what suits you more easily:

• Empire wedding dresses – a high waistline just beneath the bust and a softly falling skirt make them exceptionally comfortable and flattering on almost every figure. A lovely choice for summer weddings and for brides who want freedom of movement.
• Princess wedding dresses – a fitted bodice and a full, voluminous skirt for a classic, fairy-tale look. They are breathtaking in grand reception rooms and in group photographs.
• Mermaid wedding dresses – fitted to the body down to the knee, then flaring towards the hem. They show off the waist and hips and are loved by brides who want an elegant, sensual look.
• A-line wedding dresses – they widen gradually from the waist down, in the shape of the letter A. Balanced, flattering and easy to wear all day long.
• Short wedding dresses – ideal for a civil ceremony, an intimate wedding or as a second dress for the party.

If you are not sure which silhouette suits you, the simplest approach is to try on two or three different cuts. Often the bride who arrives certain of one style leaves in love with another.

Ready to wear or made to measure

You have two options, depending on how much time you have before the wedding and how personal you would like the dress to be:

Ready-to-wear dresses. You choose the style and the size from our size chart, comparing it with your own measurements. Ready-to-wear pieces are delivered free by courier anywhere in Romania within 48 hours, or you can collect them in person from the showroom. We also deliver outside Romania: the shipping cost depends on the country and we confirm it by phone. If the dress needs minor alterations, the Alice Design atelier can take care of them.

Made-to-measure dresses. We cut the dress to your measurements, starting from a style in the collection or from your own photographs and preferences. Together with our consultants you choose the fabrics, the lace, the embroidery and every detail. The making time is agreed individually with the atelier, depending on the style and your wedding date.

Fabrics and details that make the difference

The quality of a wedding dress shows up close: in the way the fabric falls, in the finishing inside and in how the lace and embroidery are applied. We work with chiffon, tulle, glitter tulle, embroidery, lace and satin, in off-white, ivory, white and nude. Each product page states the fabric and the shade shown, and in the atelier you can see and touch the materials before you decide.

To complete the look, our collection also includes bridal accessories: crinolines to give the skirt its volume and capes for the ceremony or cooler evenings.

How an order works

1. Choose your style from the online collection or come straight to the showroom on Calea Moșilor. For an unhurried visit, we recommend booking an appointment.
2. We settle the size or your measurements. For ready-to-wear dresses you are guided by the size chart; for made-to-measure dresses we take your measurements in the atelier.
3. We confirm the order. After an online order we call you to check the details and the fit of the size.
4. Payment can be made online by card, cash on delivery, by bank transfer or, in the showroom, in cash or by card.
5. Delivery or collection from the showroom, and if needed, the final alterations are made in our atelier.

When to start looking for your wedding dress

Ideally, begin six to nine months before the wedding, especially if you would like a made-to-measure dress. That leaves time to choose the style, for the dress to be made and for one or two fittings, without any stress. If the wedding is sooner, ready-to-wear dresses are the quickest solution, and alterations can be done within a few days.

And spare a thought for the dress after the wedding: we also offer cleaning, steam pressing and storage for wedding and evening dresses, so yours stays immaculate.

Frequently asked questions about wedding dresses

Can I try the dresses on before ordering?

Yes. We look forward to welcoming you at our showroom and atelier at Calea Moșilor 100, Sector 2, Bucharest, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 16:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 15:00. We recommend booking an appointment on Telefon.

How long does a made-to-measure wedding dress take?

The timing is agreed individually with the atelier, depending on the complexity of the style and your wedding date. We recommend getting in touch as early as you can.

Which sizes are available?

Depending on the style, the dresses in the collection are available in sizes 34–52 (EU). For any other size, the dress can be made to your measurements.

Can I order a dress based on a photograph?

Yes. You can send us photographs of styles you love, and together with our consultants we will choose the fabrics and the design that suit you best.

Do you deliver wedding dresses outside Bucharest?

Yes. Courier delivery is free throughout Romania: ready-to-wear dresses arrive within 48 hours, while for made-to-measure dresses the timing is agreed individually with the atelier. We also deliver outside Romania: the shipping cost depends on the country and we confirm it by phone.

Can I return the dress?

Standard-size dresses ordered online can be returned within 14 days of receipt, in line with the law; the cost of return shipping is paid by the customer. Dresses made to the customer's measurements cannot be returned; full details are on the returns page.

Do you also alter dresses bought elsewhere?

Yes. The Alice Design atelier carries out alterations and repairs on wedding and evening dresses, including for clients who did not buy their dress from us.
